Im Programm hat die britische Pop-Jazz-Funk-Formation die Sahnestückchen seines melodiösen, teils instrumentalen Lounge-Sounds. Durch diesen ist ihr Name zwischen 1981 und 1987 dank Hits wie „Easier Said Than Done“, „Night Birds“, „Invitations“, „Dark Is The Night“, „Down On The Street“, „Watching You“, „Mr. Manic & Sister Cool“ bekannt geworden. Von ihrer besten Seite zeigen sich Shakatak in der Originalbesetzung. Diese besteht aus dem tonangebenden Pianisten/ Keyboarder Bill Sharpe, Jill Saward (Leadgesang, Querflöte), Bassist George Anderson und Roger Odell (Schlagzeug) sowie Gitarrist Keith Winter.
